During the first, morning session which is open to demo only and full hands-on workshop participants, Don will demonstrate the process of creating textured sipper cups off the hump, using techniques like faceting and carving to create dynamic surfaces that will interact with glazes, and, optionally, the atmospheric effects in a wood-fired soda kiln. He will also demonstrate the Kurinuki handbuilding technique, which involves faceting and hollowing out a heavily-grogged clay form.

This cost of the full workshop includes clay, glaze and an electric firing. 

Buffalo ClayArt Members, guests and students can have their work fired in our electric kiln, or they can choose to add a soda firing on at additional cost when registering, or before the 9th of November.
