Jeffrey Marshall is a local potter and ceramic artist from East Aurora, New York who currently resides in the city of Buffalo. He has an eclectic background that includes an apprenticeship with a Roycroft copper artisan and training with a master potter.
Jeffrey finds inspiration in the creative aspect as well as the act of creation. With ceramics, you start with what is essentially dirt, and are involved in every step of transforming it into a functional or artistic object. His work puts emphasis on the textural and visual interaction between the clay and glazes.
Exploring the individuality of forms and design in conjunction with the way the materials interact with each other is a common theme in his work.
